Stardew valley fruit trees spacing. When I plant trees in the green house, I put two empty spaces between trees along the outside. If I try to plant a tree in an incompatible location, the game stops me from planting and tells me the tree will not grow here. I havent had this issue outside of the greenhouse, but I clear the space around the tree becore planting it.

Fruit trees need a 3x3 space no overlaps (so 2 spaces between those trees), they take a whole season to grow. Normal trees need a 3x3 space but they can overlap (so only 1 space needed between trees). The time they take is different for each tree because they have a certain percent chance of going up 1 growing stage over night.
