The Crystal Serpent and Sky Fracture are really good weapons and fairly easy to obtain. For Plantera, using the Golden Shower then the Sky Fracture or Crystal Serpent lets you reach some good DPS. Another option is the Tome of Infinite Wisdom, from the Old One's Army. This weapon is really, really good, and pretty unique at that.
